I was convicted of driving with an invalid license, a misdemeanor, in 2008. I was just offered a job as a receptionist at a law firm and I must pass a background check.
Will my misdemeanor charge keep me from passing the background check?
I did tell them about it and was completely upfront about it, I never said I wasn't. All I said was that I was worried that having this charge would make me fail the background check.

they will see it, why didn't you tell them about it, driving with out a license is nothing, they would have over looked that but since you wasn't upfront. don't expect them to hire you

A white collar, non violent, single, low level misdemenor offense should almost definately not keep you from getting a job, especially with something like a license (you can easily explain that you didn't realize it has become invalid).
If it was just probation with no sentence or fine, you don't have to claim it at
