Why do American companies hire people from India and China to come work here in the USA, why not hire at home?

H1B visa program needs to be suspended. With this level of unemployment, I don't buy the lie that they can't find any Americans to do the job.

Interesting Question....the answer is no but, some people in the USA might have to actually leave the nation to find jobs. There is a theory that global competition for labor will mean people might actually have to leave developed countries to find work and have better lives since the country they live in out sources those jobs. Service sector jobs are not high employment pursuits. Factories, farming are high employment jobs. The USA is loosing factories all of the time. Green Energy will not provide jobs like Coal power plants or nuclear plants. The wind blows turns the mill get electricity. USA is setting itself up to be management intensive also, out source jobs elsewhere and watch others work. Eventually those workers will go local and manage themselves and fire Americans.

They expect them to leave the country after a few years and start up in their own country.

When they do the American firms will move the remaining white collar jobs to India and China with American trained managers, where they will pay no tax to the US, lower wages overseas and put profits in the Caribbean banks. You heard it here first.

What I haven't quite got is how they are going to blame this on poor minorities and what used to be the middle class in America. I bet it will be your constant demand for education that did it.

Member Chandler is referring to US based companies who hire undocumented workers, or documented workers from other countries mostly from Mexico. Not saying he / she is wrong, just wrong on the issue of China for the most part.

The universities of India make ours look like intercity high schools. They are some of the hardest schools to get through on the planet. Their engineering schools are the best and most difficult to get into. In India if you place last on the entrance examine it is an honor that you made it. You don't see degrees in Women's Studies there. I would like to know what you do with a degree in Women's Studies.

It is because the foreigners are willing to work hard for less money, and the companies are for the business. Plus, the government trashed our educational system, so companies can't choose from as many reliable Americans as when the educational system was part of the private/state sector.

Our institutions and the bedrock of our countrys founding are being ignored paving the way for a socialist state as found in Europe. This is the main reson for the dumbing down of Americans.

Most governments only last for two or three hundred years and it seems like the American experience is fitting that pattern.

Most of the new hires in engineering are immigrants. They have the educations because they value them. A lot more American college students major in Liberal Arts than in Engineering. You can only hire the people available. Not enough Americans are willing to put in the effort. They are more concerned with "beer pong" and "spring break" than study.
