Resume Objective- help please?

This might be a really dumb question, but I don't understand what to put in the objective part of my resume.

I'm 16, I would like to get a job as a waitress, but that is not my objective in life... so do I put my future goals, or my current?

Split your goals: a few words for your short/medium term goals, a few more for your long-term goals. For example:

"As a student, my goal is to find a challenging and rewarding job that is customer-oriented. My long-term goal is to work as an accountant in this community."

    Very best,

    V.

Most places who hire a 16 year old for service staff do not expect you to say it is your life's dream. If it is that is fine, but realistically, they would expect something like "saving money for college," or, "moving into a management position." Even if you do not plan to go to college or be a restaurant manager, it demonstrates a desire to move forward in life. Maybe not in the Objective section but something about liking to work with people will help as well.

I'm a blogger, restaurant recruiter, and former restaurant manager. I'd recommend reading the restaurant resume article at this link: http://www.headhunterbrian.com/headhunterbrian-art...
