Does sound travel more downward or upward at 200-ft in the air.?

Please provide the rationale for your answer.

    I'm guessing downwards, since the density of air is higher at lower altitudes and sound being a mechanical wave, travels faster in higher densities.

    I think speed of sound depends upon condensity of medium, through which it have to travel.Hence, if air is comparatively dense at 200 ft , it will travel more,and if there is vacuum/less density then it will travel less.

    If by "more" you mean "faster" then I imagine that sound will travel faster in the denser air that's below 200 feet than in the thinner air above it.
