36.5 weeks pregnant and whole body itches! HELP!!!!?

Well like i said I am 36.5 weeks tomorrow and for WEEKS now I have bene so itchy. I chalked it up to my stratching skin and the fact that I live in Utah...(The weather is cold then warm then cold then warm and can cause really bad dry skin) but over the last week it has gotten unbearable. IT ITCHES EVERYWHERE!!! I have scratch marks all over my body because of how much I itch. I have changed laundry soap, used benadryl, tried every lotion, cream and moisterizer I could think of and I am at a loss! I have a Dr. APPT. at 2pm tomorrow but in the meantime I am losing sleep and need suggestions! WHAT IS THIS AND HOW DO I GET IT TO STOP!! THANK YOU! :)

Number 1..It could be from the skin stretching..if you itch it will cause stretch marks.. Number 2..(I read it in a magazine article;the ten symptoms in pregnancy you can't ignore) Severe itchiness Can be a sign of a serious problem ..I think ,like below, It's to do with the liver.. Most likely It's just number one but you should get it checked out! Hope everything goes well!

Is there a rash? It could be "PUPPS" I've had it since my 36th week and there is nothing to get rid of the itching. (Caladryl lotion came the closest to soothing but it made my skin so cold, it was just as irritating)

Either way, be careful about scratching. If you scratch until the point your skin breaks open it could cause an infection.

OMG!!!! I had the same thing when I was 36 wks pregnant! I tried everything but nothing seemed to help! I used baby lotion which kept it at ease for 1/2 hr. and benedryl helped me too... but I remember it drove me INSANE!!! my doctor sent me to a dermatologist. (i didn't end up going cuz they didn't have appt avail b4 5 wks) I delivered my baby girl 6 weeks ago. the itching stopped as soon as I went into labor... good luck to you! it will soon be over!

well i have egzama and the same things happen to me, im constantly itching, its even on the palms of my hands, i use a cocoa butter lotion, or the stuff my doctor gave me, so it wuld be best to make sure you put some on to keep your skin moist and slow down the itching until your doctor can tell you what it is for sure.

it is actually very common for not only the belly to itch uncontrollably but in some cases the entire body will, and I'm sorry to inform you but most experts say that the only cure is to deliver. it seems to be just one of those weird things that happen during pregnancy.
