Listen to real science, real medical fact, real truth.

    1. Werewolves do not exist, except as a delusion (analogous to the m-shift). There is not one single humanoid being on this planet who can change his shape in ANY manner similiar to the legends of lycanthropy. There is absolutely NO concrete evidence at all of any such creature, and there is exhaustive scientific and medical facts as to why they do not exist, and could never exist:

    2. There are no "potions" or "edibles" that can change you into anything. I have no doubt that some delusional person is going to tell you to consume wolfsbane, which is aconite, a deadly poison. There are no "bloodlines" - genetic werewolves do not exist.

    3. The legendary shapeshifting (new terminology is the pseudo term p-shift) would require a miraculous growth and loss of bone and bone

structure as the skeleton would reshape itself, a rearrangement of internal

organs and associated connective tissue, nervous pathways, and blood vessels -

requiring "movement" of these structure through deep tissue and muscle, a

complete repatterning of the entire DNA code - systemwide - a thickening of the

dermis and a spontaneous growth of fur from hair follicles generated on the

spot, a reallocation of body mass and spontaneous generation of body tissue, and

last but not least, a loss of brain tissue as the brain cavity "shrunk" to the

    dimensions of the wolf cranium.

    4. When you lose brain tissue, it is like a VHS tape being erased - any data or

associative functions stored there are gone for good - like in a stroke or TIA

(transient ischemic attack). A werewolf able to transform would (if he could)

return to human form suffering from severe retardation, and would be a drooling

idiot at best and a homicidal, animalistic killer at worst.

    5. The caloric expenditure necessary to fuel such a transformation is so high it is

impossible - the human body (at its full size) cannot ingest that much food

during one digestive cycle to power such a change. Also, the pain involved would

be so excruciating that the system itself would begin to shut down, and blood

pressure and heart rate would go so sky high that the cardiac muscle would

rupture and the "werewolf" would die from a cardiac hemmorhage.

    6. The idea that the state of being a werewolf is somehow transmitted by a bite

suggests a retrovirus, similiar to AIDS, that could rewrite the DNA code of its

host. This "retrovirus" would have to be incredibly strong, and would be

detectable by any form of bloodwork performed on the individual. If, like AIDS,

it would be resistant to all but a lethal cocktail of drugs designed to kill the

virus, then we would also see congenital transmission among children from their

parents. As no hospital is reporting a strange new retrovirus that causes its

victims to change shape, we can therefore assume with a good deal of confidence

that such a retrovirus does not exist.

    7. There are no separate races of humanoids on this planet - by now they would have interbred with "regular" humans and we'd all be the same species anyway. The idea that a secret, parallel race exists alongside us, engaging in controlled breeding to "keep the bloodline pure" is delusional in the extreme.

    8. The concept of werewolves being shapechanging, or humanoid wolves, is really absurd - wolves are descended from prehistoric canine creatures, the most famous example of which was the dire wolf. Humans are descended from upright, bipedal hominids. Nature (as in natural selection) "engineered" wolves and humans to be two totally different species, with different specializations and physical construction. Sure, there are "shapechanging" animals, such as maggots and caterpillars, but they can only change once, and can never revert to their original form. Such changes occur gradually, over a prolonged period. In order for a humanoid being to change into a wolf - or vice versa - it would require months of physical changes, and the creature would be in far too much pain to move, let alone feed. Soon the requirements of nutrition would slow the transformation down as the creature would no longer have the energy to fuel the change. It would waste away and die from starvation.

    9. Anyone who tells you such things are real is either living in a fantasy, lying through their teeth, or are caught up in a delusion bordering on mental illness. The real danger lies in people who will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get close enough to hurt you, such as pedophiles, rapists, and murderers - the only real monsters on our planet, and giving out your real location information is just asking for trouble.

There are both myths for the things that are now considered real, and the things that are considered well.. still myth. But, you can never EVER take a true side to an opinion when you, personally have not researched it yourself and chosen personally what to believe. You can never, and you should never say that you believe or don't believe in something without the proper measures taken. Research, time, study, understanding, reading, writing, seeing, feeling, experiencing, taking risks and chances. You can't just prove or disprove anything without taking the time to really understand both opinions on any matter. For this one particularly. Read all the legends, the myths, the modern ideas, the old ideas, read into it. Study it, meet with it. And don't stop until you get a clear understanding of that side of the belief. Then, take time to study the opposing side, and don't stop until you understand it just as much as the other. Then once you have personal experiences and more deep thought, you choose whether to believe these things or not. This is a question that should be personally justified to your own self beliefs. Not the publics. Morals, beliefs, and what you think do not belong to the public. But that can be shown and presented. And even if you are resented if you truly believe what you think, and you understand what you believe, completely. Then critizism and rude comments should make you want to fight for that belief and not run, cower, and question. Take your time on these and decide personally what you want to believe. Of course you can talk with people, watch documentaries, ask questions. But in the end it is up to you. As to your other questions. You cannot become what you aren't already. You are born what you are. Whether that be human, bird, reptile, fish, amphibian, or any other creature that ever possibly exists or existed. So don't fill your heads with the thoughts of changing your specie. And every animal has the ability to live beyond a designated life span or within it. It depends on how they choose to live their life. There is really, no life span on any creature. It's better to think we are all capable of being immortal with living the right way. Rather then downsizing ourselves and the creatures around us to be able to be killed so easily. But really take your time on this matter, that is, if it really does interest you.

A short and scientific introduction to Lycanthropy:

If you want to be a werewolf you have to be infected with Lycanthropy, that is Greek for Wolf-Man. It is a retro-virus not unlike Rabies and AIDS, spread mostly through saliva, but also through blood or other "bodily fluids". When a werewolf is exposed to a certain type of ray/radiation (it is not yet fully understood) in moonlight the virus becomes active. To be exact, not the virus but the cells changed by it's influence. (For those that don't know: Viruses, especially retro-viruses, change cell's DNA) They rapidly metamorphose to a completely different structure. (It is okay not to believe me, I don't have time to go into detail) Once these cells are activated, they start spilling the virus into the subjects saliva in large numbers. (This explains why bites only infect when the subject is transformed. The virus is constantly present in the bloodstream) The rumor, being scratched can infect you is wrong. This also explains (partially) why werewolves regrow so fast. Because of their changed metabolism, the cells work on base of different chemical reactions and can renew themselves much quicker. It is not 100% proven that silver really hurts a werewolf, but it is believed that silver creates a chemical reaction when it comes in contact with Lycanthrope blood, binding certain elements people don't need but werewolves do. Once a human is bitten by a werewolf (and survives the ordeal) the virus spreads through his body within roughly 3 days. Afterwords he is a full Lycan. Their are stories that if the subject is treated in a certain way during these three days, he can be cured. Their are NO proved stories of a werewolf recovering from his status. The only thing akin to a medicine in existence is called Aconitum and is a flower that grows in Northern and mid-Europe. WARNING: Don't experiment with that stuff it is HIGHLY TOXIC. If used expertly though a werewolf can use it to control his affliction almost fully. Another noteworthy fact is that werewolves do not need the full moon to transform, although they can't transform during day either. The moon only helps him transform, the more of the moon is showing the more prone a werewolf is to transform. A quite interesting fact I have only come to know recently seems to show that their are different "types" of Werewolves. After isolating the virus from multiple subjects, it was found that some showed geneticall differences I simply call them strand A-F (6 have been found so far). F is the weakest and A the strongest. This counts for strength of transformation as to lethality.

I am an expert in this field not only because I live in the probably only region on earth that they exist. I study them intensively and can anwser almost all your questions.

You know how werewolf myths started in Europe? Medieval villagers found the victims of early serial killers and thought that only a beast could do something so terrible. Werewolves were basically created as a means to explain away the actions of humans. There's nothing nature-loving about it, they aren't real, Jacob Black doesn't want to marry you, you're not going to become one and there's nothing beautiful about it. It's a myth rooted in terrible violence and naivete and ignorance. That's it.

werewolves are the result of a fermented blood beer, yenaldooshi hang around arizona on the new moon, and rabies is a parasite, not a virus, it has too manet organelles to be considered a virus

yes there are real werewolves, it is a medical condition called hypertrichosis. they just grow hair all over their body. look in the source. you can't "get" it because it is a genetic disorder.

most all monster stories originated in the ignorance of people towards those with disabilities.

there are people who are sensitive to the sun, whose skin will burn and rot off when it is exposed to light.. they are vampires

and there are those whos skin grows hair on every free corner, they may be werewolves.

pretty fantasies are just that... pretty fantasies.

if you want to imagine the reality of people with disabilities having some secret world like twilight.. that's your personal mental illness. have fun with it... but i wouldnt ask anyone to join you.. theyre just going to laugh.

the idea of werewolves was brought on by hallucinations and moldy, stale bread in the middle ages that would cause hallucinations and dissease.

Not to mention there was a serial killer that tried to excuse his behavior when caught by claiming he was a werewolf which added greater fear.

However, no, they do not really exist, or trust me they would be in zoos
