Saudi Arabia is an EAN participating country. So you are correct in choosing the 13-digit EAN (or EAN-13 or GTIN-13) as the barcode type if you are selling in your own country or any country except the USA or Canada.

The USA and Canada still operate on the 12-digit UPC code system (also known as UPC-A or GTIN-12). Therefore, if you are exporting to the USA or Canada then you should use UPC Codes. (See http://www.upccode.net/faq.html#q13 )

You have two options to obtain EAN barcodes. You can LEASE them in large quantity from GS1 or you can PURCHASE them outright in smaller quantities from a company like ours.
