If Manny is the best, why is he calling out Floyd after his flop of a fight?
First, if he is so humble why is he calling Floyd out and talking trash.
http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ki-pacmanwin...
Also, in my time of watching boxing, I have only seen contenders call out guys. Champions and pound for pound best dont do that. Maybe Manny knows that to be the best you must beat the best...Floyd Mayweather Jr.
re: Blog's comment...
It is hard to argue against Manny, he doesn't duck anyone, and fights the best he can get into the ring. Other than Margarito, Mosley and Floyd, Manny hasn't really left any of the truly elite out of his march to the Boxing Hall of Fame,
The guy has fought no quick, slick fights...not just Mosley and Mayweather....but no Bradley, no Raheem, no Judah, no Berto...he fights punching bags that don't move...Hatton, Cotto, Clottey

I would not call the Pacquiao-Clottey fight a "flop"- there were 51,000 people in attendance, which is third largest crowd for a boxing event in the U.S. in the last 60 years, and I think the pay per view numbers will be decent. It may have been extremely one-sided but it certainly wasn't a flop- to me, it was virtually the same as when Floyd Mayweather fought Carlos Baldomir; going into the fight, no one gave Baldomir a shot in hell at winning but everyone was saying he was the biggest and strongest guy that Mayweather had ever faced and they were both coming off victories over Zab Judah, and Mayweather won a lopsided decision in a fight where fans were seen leaving the arena after the 10th round. Going into the Pacquiao-Clottey fight, no one gave Clottey a shot in hell at winning but everyone was saying that he was the biggest and strongest guy that Pacquiao had ever faced and they were both arguably coming off wins over Miguel Cotto (although Clottey officially lost that fight), and Pacquiao won a lopsided decision, but the difference was that the fans were not seen leaving until after the fight was officially over.
Also, after Mayweather beat Baldomir, he called out Oscar De La Hoya and stated that "Oscar could come and get it, and we'll touch that a$$ too." After Pacquiao beat Clottey, he called out Mayweather but was not disrespectful of Floyd, he simply said he wanted to fight him and if he didn't say that, everyone would be saying that he's too scared to fight Mayweather. The only thing that he said that could be seen as "trash talking" was when Manny said Floyd's style was not as difficult to defeat as Clottey's style but even that shouldn't really be seen as disrespectful or "talking trash." We should expect the best to fight the best and the best should want to fight each other, so Pacquiao didn't do anything in the post-fight interview that he shouldn't have done. Right before the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight fell through over drug testing, Mayweather stated "not only do I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, I want to whip his punk a$$" so Mayweather in essence did the same thing as Pacquiao by saying that he wants the fight to happen.

Everyone, including Manny and Floyd know one of them is the best fighter of the era, and with the exception of Shane Mosley everyone wants to find out which one it is, including Manny and Floyd. Provided Shane doesn't throw a monkey wrench into the biggest Mega Fight since the mid 80's when Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran were ignoring Hector Camacho and Aaron Pryor, we might get a chance to see it. I think Manny was just letting everyone, including Floyd know what his opinion was on the subject, and that he is willing to give Floyd a shot at proving who the P4P best really is. Manny is a humble guy, in spite of his incredible success, he isn't as arrogant or adept at the finer points of psychological manipulation as some, he simply wants to fight the best to prove he is the best. Clottey and Cotto were two of the best, as were Morales, Barerra, Marquez, Hatton and DeLa Hoya. Hopefully that will happen and Floyd will take Manny up on his offer and end all the speculation once and for all.

Bradley and Judah? Are you kidding? There's a reason why there's rankings. And why did Manny call out Floyd.... errr... maybe because Kellerman asked dumb a$$? At least Manny is direct and answers the questions instead of going on a delusional rant like Mayweather.
I wonder how Floyd fans get through life with a collective IQ of 2.

I think he's doing it just as a disclaimer. Most likely they will line up a fight with Margarito(TR fighter), and he will say when asked why not fight Mayweather/Mosley winner that he wanted to but could not come to terms. During the whole promotion you rarely heard Pacquiao/Roach say anthing about Clottey. All I read was "Manny really wants Mayweather", "Manny is shadow boxing pretending it's Mayweather", "Manny thinks Mayweather is scared of him", etc. I think it is pointless for him to talk about fighting Mayweather unless he is ready to take blood tests and vice versa.

Because the interviewer asked the "match against Floyd Jr. which the fans want to see" question and Pacquiao wants to shut his filthy mouth once and for all. Did he talk trash? These were his words
“I want that fight, but it’s up to him,” Pacquiao said. “I’m ready to fight any time. Maybe if Mosley wins, I’ll fight him. Floyd’s style isn’t that difficult, though.”
I heard him adding, "We need time to prepare for him." This clearly shows respect. Not trash talk. "A-side meth" and PEDing accusations are the real crap talk coming from an insecure fighter who suddenly found himself second best to a lowly Asian. I thought both fighters started out at 106 pounds at the same age. How come only Floyd was entitled to that 40+ pounds weight gain?
I don't find anything disrespectful or insulting with Pacquiao's words. Trash? Enlighten us please.
Edit:
No Bradley? Would your boy Floyd Jr. fight a no name (to casual fans) non-draw like Bradley? Raheem? That guy is a joke beaten by another joke of a fighter Rocky Juarez and an aged Popo Freitas and B fighter Ali Funeka. Raheem's only claim to fame was his win against a smaller Erik Morales. It was evident that Morales's peaked at jr. lightweight. Judah? The guy Cotto and Clottey destroyed? And Berto was not available when the Clottey fight was made.

I don't get it...after his Cotto fight, Floyd fans were saying that Pac didn't want the fight because he avoided the question when asked about Mayweather...now he calls out Mayweather and Floyd fans are saying that it's bush league? When Kellerman asked him about Floyd and Pac would have said..oh leave that to my promoter, you guys would have had a field day saying Pac doesn't want to fight and blah blah blah.
BTW - Pac has how many fights in ESPN's top 50 fights of the decade...how many does Floyd? ONE - against Hatton. It's not just based on significance, but excitement. Pac Clottey was more exciting than Mayweather ODLH, Mayweather Baldo, Mayweather Marquez, etc.

Judah would have got koe'd, Berto would have been stopped. Bradley is up and coming and is under Pacquiao's weight class and fights dirty. plus cotto ran in the last rounds and fought back so how was he a non moving punching bag. and every one Pacquiao fights was or is a title list and are top fighters.

Manny is one of the best. Because chicken Mayweather JR. very afraid, only talks .. it's not trash talk.. it is a PURE CHALLENGE. Haven't you seen in Dallas 60,000 people watch the fight..
It only proves that Mexican fighters are more exciting to watch than Black fighters.

I agree with JP...Pac actually has a lot of respect for another great fighter. Pac actually acknowledges that whereas the other doesn't accept it, What's more funny is the flomo fans who can't accept the fact that Manny is also a great fighter. I don't see any trash talk in Manny's words...45000 seats made for the fight and still flop if more than 50000 came? Idk who's talking trash really...

he just want to let the people that he is the best fighter in the world not like floyd better in trash talking.
