Has anyone out there landed a job through a job board ( career builders.com etc. )?

I had my resume professionally written so it would stand out. I have submitted my resume over 300 times on various job boards and not one response .I do get mail from these job boards to upgrade to the platinum plan. Does that sound like a scam ??

I have heard of people getting jobs on job boards and the ones I heard them specifically say were www.indeed.com and www.careerbuilder.com.

The resumes that seem to be standing out are the ones that are combination and functional. It does seem to be key to have key skills that you posses in that industry in the first part of the resume usually in a section called Skills (bulleted) as well as to have a targeted resume. I do not recommend paying for additional services on job boards.

A key thing to remember is to certainly utilize all sources of job search but networking is the number one way people do tend to find jobs. If this means ntworking on www.linkedin.com or your local chamber of commerce or with networking groups on your area.

I don't know if it is a scam, but the best way to find a job is to write directly to the company; if you have an inside contact, that's even better. Ideally, you do the searching and don't wait for employers to pull your name out of the hat. You interview for positions you like, not for positions someone you never met thinks you might be interested in.

I found my job through an ad board (Jobboom) but I had to keep following up with the company's HR: "Any news on your selection date? Not yet? Ok, I'll call back near the end of the week." I had to be persistent, put aside the awkwardness, my guilty feelings about insisting--and my ego a bit, too. But it paid off.

    Best of luck!

I by no ability had a occupation, in basic terms jobs, and that i chanced on maximum of them fairly uninteresting. i became fairly happy to renounce paintings and stay at domicile. i discover it unusual that fairly some women look to sense that being at house is desperately uninteresting, and that i'm consistently astounded whilst women say they may well be bored at domicile, as i discover it marvelous that fairly some human beings curiously lack the wit to maintain themselves amused of their very own residences. i be attentive to that my husband, although he famous his interest fairly exciting and complicated, may well be extra effective than happy to offer it up if he grew to develop into financially autonomous for some reaosn, he has various pastimes that he famous a lot extra soaking up than paintings. although, if different women pick to be out at paintings each and all the time, i don't in all probability care, see you later as i will do what i pick it would not hardship me a lot what different women do. I do ask your self inspite of the undeniable fact that what is going to ensue to those paintings-obsessed women whilst they retire. How are they going to administration for something of their lives after retirement? Or will they with the help of no ability retire and save working till they drop ineffective, like previous cart horses dying in harness? I even have consistently had the impact in this internet site that maximum folk of ladies who submit at here belong to the occupation-obsessed faction "i might desire to by no ability stay at domicile" "i may well be bored without my interest" etc etc look fairly trouble-free critiques. i might say that people who derive satisfaction from being at domicile are very a lot in the minority in this internet site.
