Go to Home Depot and get a Shark bite fitting to match what is coming into the wall and what you are connecting it to. They are push on valve/fittings that can stand the pressure. They are the easiest to use and a secret in the plumbing business. They, the Home Depot people, can instruct you on installing them ! They are the best and the easiest to use !

.NO LEAD! TOXIC! It is against the law not to replace all lead pipes when upgrading your plumbing. If it is being inspected, you will fail inspection. Lead pipes are very unhealthy drinking water. Remember any piping after the water meter is your responsibility. Please change it for you and your family's health. PS: would you eat lead paint? This is very serious!
