What can I do to upgrade my bathroom?

My basement bathroom needs a new look.

It currently has concrete walls and an ugly basement window. It feels very cold and not comfortable.

I'd like to put up dry wall, but there is barely enough room for the toilet - Adding the studs would reduce precious inches from the size of the room.

I don't want to re-position my toilet though. What can I do to make it look nicer? Any design ideas or renovation ideas that won't break the bank?

Be specific. Thanks in advance for your input. Here's the pic: www.uniksolutions.com/bathroom.jpg

You could paint the walls a nice light blue like this: http://ys-ccc.com/Paper/MG%20Paper/Light%20blue%20... or like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thum...

Then I would paint the frame around the window brown and find some nice tan curtains to put up

When the windows are open you could add some fresh flowers, fake flowers, or even sea glass.

It looks like there is a shelf over to the left, so I would put some nice candles and a few lotions and perfumes there that you dont use as much there as well

I would buy a rug for around your toilet in a dark chocolate brown color.

For on top of you toilet, I would put a few more candles there as well.

And for all the hardware, try to stick with stain less steel.

Heres a nice chocolate brown: http://images.netshops.com/mgen/swatch:RPI005_15_C...

    Hope I Helped! Good Luck!

When you said you had concrete walls... I thought it would be gray concrete, but this appears to be some other material or painted. I would paint over the ugly drab off white walls with a blue/gray (or warm chocolate) paint (including painting over the pipe coming down from the ceiling so it blends in), paint the cabinets a Minwax Ebony (brown black) if painting walls gray/blue. If painting brown, paint the cabinets a creamy white or latte---although I can't see what you have now, put down a bamboo flat mat with a brown trim, place a vase with a mix of natural colored flowers and splash of red or yellow ontop of toilet, put up a few spa like pictures, rolls some towels and place on edge of sink, buy some thin, sheer reddish brown curtains that go from ceiling to floor and give the illusion of a long window but not large enough to take up space. Add some sconce lighting and a framed mirror, and update the fan lighting above the toilet. And last but not least some scents that you enjoy!
