in an open remote public park
was pitch black late at night
no body around
we are both the same age.
under 20
officer said we could get charged with a 'Sex Offense' and become registered sex offenders.
what are your thoughts on this?
i think this is bull sh*t, and the judicial system should redefine what a 'sex offender' is

They can and will charge you with max allowable by law which varies by state. In my state, the facts are this is a sex offense because of the way the law is defined. And yeah, I agree, its BS.

If you live in California and have sex in a public park and get caught you will be charged. You will also have to register as a sex offender. Any sex or peeing in public areas is a sex crime.

As long as neither of you were under-age, the only thing that could be charged is public nudity and that would be hard to prove. If both parties are consensual, then there is no "offense". Just be careful and if you have to go to court, hire a good lawyer. Chances are, the officer just wanted to scare and upset you.

Oops...I better watch out. I have been much more public than that. But I thought as long as you were in your car and of legal age, it wasn't an issue.

Is this in US? UK? anywhere else?
if in the US, there are different laws dependant on your state.
age is not a consideration for whether you are put on the SOR or not
