Help! easy 7th grade math!?

Kiara and selena are playing a game. Selena has 15 more points than Kiara. Their combined point total is 32. Write and solve an equation to find kiaras points.

Could you guys show me how to do this, and not just give me the answer. Please explain as simply as possible

    Let x represent the number of Kiara's points

    Let x+15 represent the number of Selena's points, since Selena has 15 more points than Kiara.

    x+(x+15)=32

    x+x+15=32

    2x=32-15

    2x=17

    x=17/2 or 8.5, depending on if your teacher wants fractions or decimals.

    Let Kiara have x points

    Selena has 15 more points i.e. x + 15

    Total points -= 32 = x + x + 15

    32 = 2x +15

    32-15 = 2x

    17 = 2x

    x = 17/2 = 8.5

    Selena has 15 points more = 8.5 + 15 = 23.5

    Kiara = 8.5 points Selena = 23.5 points

    Check your answer

    They add up to 32

    x + 15 is Selena

    x + x + 15 = 32

    2x = 17

    x = 8.5
