Scottish Education system - what is intermediate?

ok so you know Standard grades are the same as GSCEs, right?

and that in standard grade there are 3 levels: Credit (highest), General, and Foundation (lowest)

and at standard grade you can attain a grade from 1 - 7

1&2 being credit, 1 is the upper band mark

3&4 being general, 3 is the upper band mark

5&6 being foundation, 5 is the upper band mark

7 being a complete fail.

well intermediate is just a different course,

at intermediate there is 2 levels: int 1 & int 2

int 1 is roughly equivalent to foundation/general

int 2 is roughly equivalent to credit (perhaps a touch higher than credit)

and so they (GCSEs, Standard Grades & Intermediates) are all pretty much the same thing - just different names really and i suppose the coursework varies slightly through the 3...
