alpine type x or jl w7?
im having a hard time choosing my cars new system, im thinking either a 10in type X, or a 10w7, im not necessarily concerned about whats louder, but more what sounds better, and i narrowed down my choices to these two subs
price isnt too much of a concern since both subs ive seen were within 100 bucks of eachother

of those two i would take the type x. want more options? look at the image dynamics 'idmax' and the fi car audio 'Q' series.

i personally have a alpine type x and i must say that it is the best sub i have ever heard. its extremely loud and hits hard. i havent had the pleasure of hearing a W7 but for the price i would definitely go for the type x. i originally had it in a sealed box but changed to a ported and what a difference in the level of sound.
as it sits, i am able to hit almost 140db with one type x. its powered by a mrp-m1000, speaker wired to 2 ohms.
if been in the audio scene for a couple of years now and have had the pleasure of hearing several different subs, in my opinion the type x is well worth the money and wont disappoint!
make sure you match the RMS! however, this sub CAN handle much more then 1000 watts rms.
