What kind of graphic card do I need to play the sims 3?

So I got that shader model 2 error that a lot of people get when loading the sims 3 game to play, and apparently I need a new graphics card or something. I heard they are expensive and I dont have money to spend $200 on one from what I heard they cost...but I suppose that if I want to play the game in this case it will cost something.

So my computer is a DELL 2002 from what I read, and the model # is: DHS

Help me out please. i will add details if needed. Thanks!
