Just ordered Dish Network....?

and i ordered 2 DVR/HD receivers, and 3 regula receivers. 5 receiver's total. But on the confirmation e-mail, it says...

1 HD DuoDVR Receiver

1 HD Solo Receiver

1 HD Duo Receiver

Doesnt that mean we are getting only 3 recivers, when we're suppose to be getting 5? I'm alittle confused.

Congratulations you just got screwed by DISH's deceptive marketing where they call a single DVR two DVRs just because it is hooked up so you can watch it in two rooms.

Other providers install two actual DVRs which will allow you to record four different programs at a time or watch two different programs while you record two additional different programs, but with your DISH setup, if someone in each "DVR" installed room is watching a different program, you cannot record anything, and if that single DVR that you will have is recording two different programs, you can't watch a third thing in either "DVR" room.

Another thing... even though they call it a HD DuoDVR, it won't even be HD in both rooms. Only one DVR room will have a HD picture, the other "DVR" room will only have SD.

Despite what some people who work for DISH try to tell you, there's nothing "awesome" about the technology. It's really nothing but a cheap and inferior way of using a single DVR and deceptively calling it two DVRs for marketing purposes. It's not anything like two DVRs. As detailed above it doesn't do what two DVRs would do.

SD is Standard definition. 480. if you have 2 hdtv,s and you want hd and dvr on both those hdtv's you need to call and modify the work order. 1-866-688-3274 is the tech hotline. below is what you will get if you do not modify the work order.

HD DuoDVR Receiver will give you

1 tv that has HD and DVR &

1 tv that has SD and DVR

    HD Duo Receiver

1 tv will have HD and NO DVR

1 tv will have SD and NO DVR

    HD SOLO RECVR

1 tv will have HD and NO DVR

You will have 5 rooms that have programming and you can watch different stuff on all of the tvs at the same time. Make sure the technician that does the install gets atleast 50 signal strength. you can also check it by pressing menu , 6, 1, 1. You are looking at satellites 110, 119, 129

you ll be fine, let the professional (debatable ) installer take care of you. despite of what the directv fan boy says dish's stolen tivo technology is is almost as good as tivo and also should of mentioned directvs hd dvrs have a v3 after the model number, v3 stands for version 3...keep tiring directv at least be honest and mention the additional hardware fees for not have a free tv2 output on their boxes that way the consumer can decide what he wants ! jacob is a DNS TECH FSS 300 ( for now ) and is pretty confidant of his time consuming answer that will be of no use to you if you live in the eastern arc

greggretzky is why anyone whos considering satellite should look to local retailers for an installation, retailers make their money only if you dont cancel so they are more likely to explain each and every detail to you including a better install because dish's in house and sub contracted people never have to go back to fix their own crap work

You're getting set up for 5 TVs. The Duo receivers work for 2 televisions. They give you one box but program it for 2 tvs in complete different rooms. You will get 5 remotes, one for each TV. It uses some pretty awesome technology to boost the signal all around your house.

    TV1. HD DVR

    TV2. HD DVR

    TV3. HD

    TV4. HD

    TV5. HD

Hmmm.... i could persist with cable if I have been you. I even have heard countless human beings complaining approximately how hard it fairly is to get a sign on their dishes and how after a hurricane, you will desire to watch for weeks earlier they arrive out to reconnect you. besides, the cable companies will generally throw in Broadband cyber web get entry to for an extremely affordable... satelite can no longer.
