does my guitar have a bad pot or connection?
I have a fender mustang, and when i have a cable connected to it i get alot of noise and sound cracks. if i move the cable while its plugged in it causes the sound to pop. im using high end cables (monster cable) and i've tried low end connections. what the problem, is the jack just not making good contact or does something need to be adjusted or repaired

have you cleaned the connections?little alcohol and qtips?pots can get very dirty, and get noisy.you can either pull them apart and clean em, or just replace em.id also check over the soldered connections on all cable ends.the reason i say this, is when i play, i use atleast 3 20 ft cables.its fairly regular that the + wire breaks at the terminal ends.
