half life/first order decomposition question?

The half-life for the first-order decomposition of sulfuryl chloride at 320°C is 8.75 h.

SO2Cl2(g) SO2(g) + Cl2(g)

What is the value of the rate constant k, in s-1?

What is the pressure of sulfuryl chloride 4.12 h after the start of the reaction, if its initial pressure is 722mm Hg?

How long after the start of the reaction will it be before the pressure of sulfuryl chloride becomes 278 mm Hg?

    8.75 h = 31500 s

    31500 = ln 2 /k

    k = 2.20 x 10^-5 s^-1

    4.12 h = 14832 s

    ln x / 722 = - 2.20 x 10^-5 x 14832 = - 0.326

    x = e ^-0.326 = 0.721 = x/ 722

    x =521 mm Hg

    ln 278 /722 = - 2.20 x 10^-5 t

    - 0.954 = - 2.20 x 10^-5 t

    t = 43382 s = 12.1 h
