  • My puppy fell! What do I do?!?

I was holding my puppy in my lap as I sat at the kitchen table because I was trying to get a better look at something in her eye. When I went to get the stuff from her eye she wriggled out of my hand really fast and fell to the floor. She immediately began yelping but after a minute I was able to console her. She's only 8 weeks old but when I put her down shes walking and acting fine and I gave her some treats to make sure she will eat. I am just scared she has a concussion or something. Her vet visit is not until tomorrow morning...What do I do?!

  • determining k values for various reactions?

Determine the values of Kp that correspond to the following values of Kc.

    CO(g) + Cl2(g) COCl2(g), Kc = 1.2 103 at 668 K

    2 NO(g) + Br2(g) 2 NOBr(g), Kc = 1.32 10-2 at 1000 K

    2 COF2(g) CO2(g) + CF4(g), Kc = 2.00 at 1000°C

  • half life/first order decomposition question?

The half-life for the first-order decomposition of sulfuryl chloride at 320°C is 8.75 h.

    SO2Cl2(g) SO2(g) + Cl2(g)

What is the value of the rate constant k, in s-1?

What is the pressure of sulfuryl chloride 4.12 h after the start of the reaction, if its initial pressure is 722mm Hg?

How long after the start of the reaction will it be before the pressure of sulfuryl chloride becomes 278 mm Hg?

  • gaseous reaction question?

Many gaseous reactions occur in your car engine and the exhaust system. One of them is:

    NO2 (g) + CO (g) NO (g) + CO2 (g)

The following initial rate data is available for this reaction.

    EXPERIMENT [NO2](mol/L) [CO] (mol/L) Initial Rate, mol/L-s

    1 0.10 0.10 0.0050

    2 0.40 0.10 0.080

    3 0.10 0.20 0.0050

    a) The order of the reaction with respect to the NO2.

    b) The order of the reaction with respect to the CO.

    c) The overall order of the reaction.

    d) The value of the rate constant.

A rule of thumb in chemical kinetics states that for many reactions, the rate of reaction approximately doubles for a temperature rise of 10°C. What must be the activation energy of a reaction if the rate is indeed found to double between 25°C and 35°C?
