Is there a danger of coyote/wolves in my area?

I live in Flint, MI. Behind my neighborhood is a section of wooded area with lots of hunting trails and paths, and there's a little fishing hole right at the edge that I like to go to and fish. I know there are deer that live in the woods, because I've come across at least 6 or 7 corpses in the same area. And they look to have been killed by coyotes, because the bodies are always torn apart and pieces everywhere. I've walked the trails before and found dozens of skeletal remains, all along the hunting trails.

My dad seems to think that there are wolves in the area, and that they've interbred with coyotes to give them a pack mentality. He thinks that it's no longer safe to even walk through the neighborhood, even during the day, because he believes packs of hybrid coyotes are stalking and eating people. But he exaggerates everything so I usually take it with a grain of salt. But I've seen the corpses that have been stockpiled in the area, so I'm wondering if it's something I should be concerned about. I've been living in the neighborhood about 9 years, and I've been fishing only 1 year there. I've never really heard of any trouble with coyotes in the area before, certainly not killing people, and kids from the school (which is at the edge of the forest as well) have never been attacked. So I'm wondering if this is something to be concerned about? Is it even likely that wolves live in the area?

To give you perspective, I've included a link that shows my neighborhood and the woods from satellite imagery. The big brown wooded area is what I'm talking about, and if you zoom it at the end of the road, you can see the little fishing hole.

There are no wolves in the Flint area, they live farther north in Michigan. There are lots of coyotes and in recent years there have been bears increasing in central/southern Michigan.
