Honestly if its just fingerprints and such, just wet a rag with water and wipe it off with that, making sure you dry as you go, so you don't get dried water droplets all over the glass.

Its safe (just in case you were to get some in the tank) and for fingerprints will work just as well.

Its better to be safe than sorry.

All the answer are good. Another idea is to use vingar and water mixed in a spray bottle, and the dollor stores micro fabric towls are perfect. So just spray the towl far away from the tank. The vingar works better than windex and also is the most safe product of them all to use with fish tanks. You can even use a small amount to clean the inside of tank if your setting up an use one and make sure you rinse with water.

Dont spray the tank directly; it might fall in the water of the tank. Take a paper towel and spray that. Then wipe down the tank with the paper towel.

Yeah I use windex all the time to clean my glass. Just make sure none of it gets in the water.

Sure you can, just spray it on your paper towel a good distance from the tank to avoid contaminating the tank. Wait, scratch that. Save a tree and spray it on your re-usable cleaning rag ;)

as the others said, yes but spray it on the rag/newpaper not the tank.

another option is getting one of the microfiber towels (I got mine at the dollar store!). I keep one by each tank, I can use it to wipe up spills and you can wipe marks off the glass without any cleaners :)

Yes, and wipe it off with newspaper, it works better than paper towels. However, if you have the top open, cover it to prevent windex from going into the water.
