Reasonable amount to charge for babysitting?
I'm a 22 year old toddler teacher at a child care center. I was asked to babysit for one of the children in my class, she's 2 years old. I'm CPR and First Aid certified, EEC teacher certified, and have my degree in early childhood education. The family knows I'm responsible since their daughter is in my care at school 3 days a week. What is a reasonable hourly rate to charge?
(This is in Massachusetts, if that makes a difference)

I have no idea where you live in the world you could possibly live in the UK and this could be no help to you. But I live in Toronto (Canada) and about 20 dollars a day is what all babysitters I know charge. My aunt baby sits for that amount and my sisters babysitter sits for that amount. hope that was some help to you. keep in mind that it is your sister and if the baby was unplanned shes probably young. and even tho you think that is it's preventing you from getting a "real job" there is lots of jobs for in the morning time. You clearly don't have a job now. So I guess you don't really need it. Plus that money is under the table and never has to be claimed. so 20 dollars may be a little high for her. I personally don't think so. But who knows what situation shes in.
