Astrological Influence - Political & Social Activism?
In terms of someones natal chart, what would incline someone to be involved in activism? As in, fighting for civil rights. As in, fighting for political and/or social change for the better. As in, someone who would go against the system and fight the power so to speak. What astrological placements can cause someone to have a mind of a revolutionary? The first thing I would think of is Aquarius placements in a chart. What signs, houses, aspects would you look at? Would they need a strongly placed Mars to follow through with their ideals?

@ silverphoenix - I remember I gave that song as an answer in someones question a while back. Was that your question, because I can't find it?
@ scarlett95 - Yes, I agree with you, but I'm trying to find out if there is an astrological influence that would make someone involved in activism. Most people care, but aren't involved and just go with the flow.
@ feathery - Thats a good point, although not everyone agrees on us being in the age of Aquarius just yet. I'm not sure if we are or not. I agree with you though. I think we are in a time of serious change.
@ a cornerstone & marlamartian - Both very good answers. Thank you and much appreciated.
@ someone forgotten - Thank you very much. I wasn't sure about the age of Aquarius, but I think you are right.

In Hesiod's Theogony, he outlines the beginning of time and the struggle for control.
The main characters in this were Ouranos, Kronos and Zeus (Uranus/Saturn/Jupiter) Kronos took down Ouranos, and Zeus then took down Kronos.
Uranus is uninamity and Saturn is uniformity. Both will be important. Jupiter could be the underlying ideal.
Mars would be necessary, but for leading a revolution of sorts, this person couldn't be too "me,me,me" which Mars has the tendency to be, and it wouldn't be most necessary. Revolutions often do better by feeding to peoples need to be believe, so a leader of this may have a prominent Neptune.
I would look at houses 9/10/11.
One way to look at it.

Of course it does! I've always said that we would never truly separate chruch and state because we cannot separate a person from their church or mosque or temple. We cannot ask someone to put aside or suspend their beliefs for one minute in order to make a political choice. It's impossible, if someone is serious about their religion they would have their religious beliefs influence them. The reason why fundamentalists are looked down upon it's because they are open about it and they do let their politics go hand in hand with religion. Yet, liberal christians are the same. They believe health care should be universal, the wealthy should pay for the poor, everyone should be tolerant of everybody, and that pacifism is good. Seriousl, think about. You are like a fundamentalist except that your religious views are more accepted by liberals and seculars. But you both let your religion influence what also affects the lives of others if you vote, you're also making decisions for your community based on your own morality. I'm not saying this is wrong or right. I, personally, think all religion is stupid and in my ideal world people would have no religion. But I'm a realist and I know that religion would always be key into what morality people have and what type of leader they would choose. Religion is the heart of politics in my opinion and the one with the religious majority would rule in politics. It is the tyranny of the majority as John Stuart Mill said. I've realized that it's silly and unrealistic to ask someone of any faith not to let religion guide their decisions in life or when in the voting booth. The problem now is how do we control this? This is why we would never really have progress in politics because there is a clash of morality, religion, and opinion.

Yes, I agree that we are in the age of aquarius since currently neptune in in aquarius. Also, pluto in capricorn would probably change organization. If I'm not mistaken, the last time pluto was in capricorn, the american and french revolution occurred. I think that not only are we in a time of serious change, but a serious change will happen.

We are supposedly in the Age of Aquarius... an age of social and political activism, humanitarian causes, forward thinking in science and the environment. Also different ideas regarding sex, lifestyle and the arts are akin to the Aquarian Age.
