Anyone know of a USB modem that is compatible with windows 7?
I was told by my internet provider that USB modems are not compatible with windows 7 and that I would need an ADSL modem/router, is this true or not as some people on here say USB modems are compatible so it's a bit confusing? Thank you.

Tests has shown that the CD supplied with both the Speed-touch and Sagem USB modem for example, will not recognise the Windows 7 operating system and as such will not install the drivers for the modem correctly.
That might lead us to think you'd experience these kind of problem even though using different USB modems.
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Your internet provider is obviously lying to you then, all USB modems are compatible with any of the latest OS's. This is a standard thing and as soon as you plug it in, you will be told that it is scanning for a device driver, which is what it should do, I suggest going back to your provider and asking them why they lied to you.
