Why won't the internet work on my HP laptop?
When you click on "connect to the internet" it says it's connected, but nothing opens up.
It's an HP dv5-1120us, Pavillion series. I have 2. One gets the internet, one doesn't.

Are other computers on your network getting out to the internet? Is this a new problem or did you just buy it? Linux or Windows? Give us some details so we can try to help...

What kind of connection does it say that you have? It may say connected, but "local"...it might have to say "local and internet". Scroll over the little computer at the bottom and tell us what it says!

Try opening your web browser and hitting F5, if that doesnt work disconnect it and then reconnect it. All else fails reboot the pc, My pc does this sometimes, and at least one of the above usually work for me,
