If you have a child that participates in youth sports (under high school level), help me out?
Im a sports management student and we are doing a project about youth sports, and part of the requirement is interviewing parents of players. If you could answer these questions, it would be awesome
1. What sport/leagues does your child participate in? Also, your child's age?
2. Why is your child involved in the league/ Does your child enjoy the sport?
3. If they are in a league, what kind of practices do they have, and how often?
4. Do you practice with your kids outside of normal practice?
5. Do you feel like you have influenced your kid to play sports?
6. Do you encourage your child to play more than one sport? If so, why?
7. Have you seen a change in your child's academic performance since they started playing sports?
8. Have you seen a change in their self-esteem since they started playing sports?
9. Did you play sports when you were a child? If so, what sports?
10. Do you think the coach and/or referees do a good job?
11. Is there anything you feel the coaches overemphasize or underemphasize?
Any help is greatly appreciated

I have a little sister who's in 7th grade... I kind of answer of what my parents said before...
1. Volleyball and track. She's 11, 12 in May.
2. She wanted more extracurriculars and she wanted to be healthier.
3. In volleyball, about twice a week they had practice. With track, every day after school until 4:30. (Monday through Friday, 2:45-4:30) Usually it cuts down to 3 or 4 days a week when tournaments/meets start.
4. No, neither does my parents. We give her tips, but we don't have a volleyball net. She just joined track so we never had the chance to help her. We are setting up our old treadmill for her, though.
5. Yes, I did personally. I told her the earlier she joins, the better. My parents pushed her a bit, but I convinced her. :P
6. My parents say just as long as it does not affect her school work and other activities, she can join any she wanted. They give her the responsibility of choosing what she wants to do.
7. No, my parents make sure she does her homework and has enough time for anything else.
8. She's a bit more energetic as she's more active, but otherwise, no changes.
9. No, neither of my parents played organized/school sports.
10. They don't think the volleyball coach doesn't play her enough even though she's gotten better. They have yet to meet the track coach.
11. No.
