How much will this new mandatory healthcare cost us Americans?

Obviously healthcare is very expensive, therefore I dont have it, but now that it will be mandatory for all americans to carry health insurance, How much will it cost per individual? I work in the healthcare industry, am a single 41 year old self employed female. Thanks... I cant seem to find any clear answers, all i read is that it will be "affordable". If i could "afford" insurance, i would already have it.

Update:

ok but how much will it cost me as an american? in dollars?

Update 2:

But, Im damn sure I cant afford $2000 a year, otherwise I would have insurance right? now.thats $167 a month. Who can afford that? if I could, i would be paying for it through my job .....WTF!!

You will have to buy it for somewhere between $2000 to $5000. But you will get most of it back in the form of a tax credit. People are freaking out way too much over this. If you already have health insurance through your job you won't be forced to pay more money. Your employer will need to make sure that you are on a approved plan in about 18 months, that's it. And you will see costs go down because of the millions of people now paying into the pool. Private companies loved the old way, gouge the healthy people and drop those that get sick. They were getting rich at everyones expense. Big insurance corporations had 8 lobbyist for every politician throwing millions of dollars to keep this thing from passing, the reason, they stood to lose some profits.

Not only will it not be affordable...it will cost you fines and possibly jail time if you don't have it. Think that's way out there? It's not..just give it time until the government decides not enough are on the Obamacare train and they start putting people in jail..for not being able to afford to buy something..to BUY something...
