    Subtract 46 from -4 to get -50.

    -|-50|

    Remove the factor of -1 from the single term inside the absolute value.

    |50|

    The absolute value of -50 is 50, so the absolute value symbols can be removed.

    -(50)

    Multiply -1 by the 50 inside the parentheses.

    1.) Work inside the absolute value sign:

    -|-4-46|

    -|-50|

    2.) Now take the absolute value of what's inside the brackets:

    - (50)

    3.) Distribute the negative sign in:

    ==>-50
