Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive. So -23-(-15)=-23+15 or -8. When adding or subtracting a negative, you can simply reverse the operation and make the number positive.

Decreased by (-15) is equivalent to increased by (+15).

    The answer is: -23 + 15 = -8

it is -23 decreased(which means subtract) by -15. Soooo...... -23- -15 which would be -23+15 (becasue two negatives make a positive). So -8.
