How do I find my local dog warden in the U.K.(England)?

In previous summers there has been a problem with dog fouling on the unmade path outside our house.

The fouling can be as little as 3 Metres away from my kitchen window, and in the summer the smell is awful and unhygienic .

I have sent an e-mail asking the nsda who our local dog warden is today also

N.B. We are responsible dog owners, and pick up after our dog even in the fields/countryside.

You have to consider that there could always be children wanting to play in areas, unless they are designated as "dog parks"

Update:

Thanks, I phoned a number I found on the internet, and the dog warden rang me back , and she is sending some signs and leaflets I can put up.

She also told me the fine is £1000 !!! for leaving your dog poo behind!!!

We rang our local council who sent round our local warden. We complained & asked for a dog fouling sign to be put up, which he refused. So we asked him to give us a sign & we put it up ourselves, on our own fence. Obviously that doesn't stop it, but if people see a penalty sign it might deter them.

Contact the local authority about the dog warden. They can also pass dog fouling bye laws if they agree the need.

In the interim buy a tin of Jeyes fluid, dilute it and water the path using a watering can with a fine rose.

Dogs, as you know, prefer to go where they or other dogs have gone before. Dilute Jeyes fluid is harmless to dogs, but they will be deterred by the aroma!

Ring your council and tell them the problem. We e mailed our council last wednesday because the path and field above our street was absolutely filthy with dog muck, broken bottles, and dumped rubbish. Nothing had been done about it for a couple of years and it was disgusting. To their credit they sent a team up the very next day and it is now spotless. If nothing else you can suggest they install a pooh bin in the area, and they should send someone to moniter the situation.

Dog wardens are employed by the local council. However I think that it could be another department who will deal with your problem.

EDIT. I have just remembered, its the environmental health department that will deal with this issue.

l would not have thought the local dog warden could help

unless the fouling is caused by stray dogs.the council

could be contacted and they could either provide a suitable

    bin or notice.

I think it is a matter for your local council. Do a search on their website and there should be a number that you can call.
