Would driving a tractor over a clumpy field help flatten it?
I'm considering buying some land, one of the fields I'm looking at has been left for years and is bumpy and clumpy. The surrounding fields are used for growing hay and are relatively flat except the the corners they don't use which are also bumpy/clumpy.
Access to the field is by a foot path threw one of these other fields which will make doing work on it difficult. Trying to plan everything out before approaching the field owner about buying it.
Thanks
6 AnswersGarden & Landscape2 years agoHelp Changing Aperture on FinePix S4800 Camera?
Looking online at photography guides, one of the ones id like to try they say you have to have the aperture at a higher number. I can only get my camera to change between two numbers 3.1 & 8 which doesn't seem to make much difference to be honest. But in the book that came with the camera it says under aperture
F3.1 / F8 (Wide)
F5.9 / F8 / F20 (Telephoto) with ND filter
So how do I get it to 20?
I've googled ND Filter as no idea what it is and my camera didn't have one in the box so do I have to buy one and hold it over the lens? or do they clip on? Or does my camera have one built in?
Any help greatly appreciated
6 AnswersCameras6 years agoIs I.S.D.S just for border collies?
Saw on a website someone has had there working bearded collie registered with the I.S.D.S they were saying the can now as the dog was accepted under the registration of merit as they changed the rules from saying that a dog must be true type border collie to a dog mist be true working sheepdog or border collie.
So is that true and you can register working sheep dogs of other breeds with I.S.D.S or would they think that her dog was a working border collie.
Just wondering as I all ways thought it was just for border collies of both types.
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoEye testing question?
In the UK. If a dog was eye tested clear but then later had an accident and had to have an eye removed could you get it retested if the breed is recommended to have a current eye test for pra. Or would they refuse as they can obviously only test the one eye.
1 AnswerDogs8 years agoHow to end a braided lead with out back braiding?
I want to try my hand at making dog show leads and I've been practising the round braid I want to use on wool. I can do that no problem and found a way to do the handle by braiding a bit, then looping it over and continuing braiding with both ends together. But looking online I would need to back braid it by the clip. But I've tried practising it on the wool and I just can't get it to work. I don't want to just tie a knot in it as that would spoil the look. I'm planning to use nylon or leather.
Any ideas or tips on how to back braid easerly.
Thank you
1 AnswerHobbies & Crafts8 years agoCan you melt dog chocolate?
I'm planning on making some healthy dog biskets and I'd like a layer of dog chocolate on the bottom of them (ok not so healthy if I add chocolate I know). But is doggy chocolate like people chocolate where you can melt it and let it set again.
Don't want to go buy the stuff and try to melt it and then find its different and goes manky if melted.

3 AnswersDogs1 decade agocan u get budgie harnesses?
ive seen that you can get ones for parrots and im wondering if you can get them for budgies.
i have a little budgie who has no tail or flight feathers (his parents stripped most of his feathers and some have never grown back hes about 6months now i think), other budgies attack him so he lives with me spending most of our time tougher, but the problem is when he gets spooked by something or loses balance he jumps/falls off my sholder. im worried about him getting hurt and would love to take him out places with out the fear of him falling. so a harness would be perfect.

Panorama: It Shouldn't Happen at the Vets.
Its a behind the sceans look at one of Britain's largest veterinary chains with undercover secreat filming. Kind of sounds like 'pedigree dogs exposed' for vets.

1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoYour opinions on rescue centres for puppyfarm dogs?
I know of a rescue that takes in mostley ex-breding dogs from puppyfarms and backyard breeders, many have health or behaviour problems as a result. Some people that i know of think its not a good thing as they say they are making it eayser for puppyfarms and backyard breeders as they now have somewhere to send there unsold pups and dogs they no longer want. But others think it is a good thing as it gives the dogs a chance to have a good home.
What are your opinions on rescues that take in mostley ex-breding dogs from puppyfarms and backyard breeders?
3 AnswersDogs1 decade agoCan a vet pull out a rabbits tooth?
At work there is a rabbit that keeps getting spurs on one of here back teeth which caused her eye to water and eventually she stops eating. As the process of going to the vets being knocked out and having it filed down stresses her out so much it takes her ages to get over it and each time it takes longer for her to get back to normal.
As its a reoccurring problem could the vet not just pull out the problem tooth? (She gets plenty of stuff the chew to where down her teeth and she is the only rabbit there to get this)

7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoLooking For Exotic Mammals In The UK?
I found a website for a person who kept and bred exotic mammals like skunks and raccoons but i now cant find it anywhere. I work as an animal tech and they are looking to get some more exotic animals for the mammal section (they already have plenty of aquatic, amphibian and reptile animals).
Does anyone know of any website for breeders of exotic mammals in the UK?
2 AnswersZoology1 decade agoQuestion about the 3yearly vaccination plan?
Iv'e been doing research in vaccination and came across some intresting studies that said that they the core ones (except for one of them) last for at least 3 years and the non core ones last about a year in most dogs, and that its recomended to do:
puppy ones, boster at 1 years old then every 3 years
canine distemper virus
canine adenovirus 2
canine parvovirus
parainfluenza virus
every year
Bordetella bronchiseptica
Leptospira interrogans
Heres some of them

Any way, i was talking about it to a friend and she said at her vets if a dog misses a boster they have to revacinate them again and cant use a boster. So i thought i would ask any one who is using the 3 yearly plan. Do they get bosters every 3 years or do that have to be revacinated again every 3 years? (as they whole idea is to not over vaccinate so surley if they have imunity still the only need a boster)
Is there any diffrence between the bosters and the first vacinations they give or are they exactly the same?

7 AnswersRodents1 decade agoHow irrisponsible is this vet!?
Talking to my sister in law about here 7month old female cat, and she said its been realy annoying latles so i said its oldenought to be comming into season so prehaps thats why and i said they should have her spayed so she doesnt end up constantly getting pregnant and she said there local vet wont spay a female cat if it hasent had a litter.
I couldnt beleave it, the whole point of spaying cats to to cut down the number of unwanted litters and here is this vet refusing to spay cats unless they allow the cat to have a litter!
ive told them they need a new vet as this same has told them they need to smack a puppy if it has a toilet accident.
