Pharaohs are always busy, they will go boating in their free time but it seems like they are also working at this particular activity....

I hope I could help you by explaining it why this leisure of boating seems like a part of their work for them too...

In the days of the ancient Egyptians, Pharaohs would take their families and royal households on boats and barges down the great Nile River to view their kingdom and servants. They would be updated on the harvest, how well or poorly it was coming along, how the slaves were progressing on the building of the pyramids, and of their rivals in other countries.

Not only did this event of riding a royal boat down the Nile cement the Pharaoh's status as ruler of Egypt, it also gave his family time away from the palace and pressures of royal life to just enjoy each other and reconnect with each other.

Thus, boating became a family hobby for many of the Pharaohs and their Nobles. It was not long before this relaxing get away was noticed by other civilizations and copied. Even today, the enjoyment of boating, be it on a freshwater lake, or a deep sea fishing trip, still brings families together and makes vacations last a little while longer.

That is why I say boating is considered as part of their work not leisuring although it is something like a hobby or pleasuring. However they do spend it with their family. So I guess it is considered as something that they do in their free time. That's all....
