Jehovah's Witnesses- When It Comes To Wondering.....?

..... About the New World and the questions the Bible does not comment on and that we just have to "wait and see", what crosses your mind the most?

Vot means Qs others have asked, like:

Will we wear clothes?

Will people get to look like they'd prefer (e.g "It's not in my family's genes right now, but I hope I'll have a smaller nose!!!!), or will our attitude towards our physical "imperfections" change?

What kind of technology will there be, and how will they be pollution-free? Solar energy? Cellphones and computers? Cars and planes?

Will Jehovah allow us to travel to other planets?

Vot wonders about pests and food supplies (I know, no surprise there lol)- will these bugs change their "destructive" diets like the lions and wolves will, or will there be more than enough vegetation for man and beast (and bug) for there not to be a problem, or will Jehovah let us invent "clean" pesticides that bring no harm to man or beast (or good bug)?

And speaking of food- will he let us tinker around with plant genes, to possibly breed- for example- Vitamin A-rich carrots that taste like roast beef? xD

What "wait and see" question is closest to your heart? :-D

    Wait and see question:

Will the earth-wide climate be more uniform?

I know the Bible says we will always have the seasons, hot and cold etc. but how can you have paradise and still not be growing something to eat all winter? And maybe that meant always in this world - even so at the equator the climate does not change. Plus what about the balance in nature? One reason many animals eat other animals could be because of limited vegetation in the winter. I think that was why man was told he could eat meat. If the climate doesn't change will more animals hibernate all winter?

    Wait and see question #2:

Will we even be allowed to fly in a man-made airplane?

Perfect of not, isn't there still a chance that there could be a mechanical failure and what would be the hurry to go from one place to another that we would need to fly?

    Wait and see question #3

What sort of system of trade will there be?

If we have automobiles does that mean you would have to work in an automobile factory to get one for a time? What if you prefer to live the simple life? Will you be expected to work at things that you might not desire or benefit from? Will everyone be required to do some sort of community service? After all we now have infrastructure, roads, public water and sewers, etc. If we use those things then, we need to pay for them one way or another. Will it be possible to be independent and not use them?

    Wait and see question #4

Will we still have Kingdom Halls and meetings after the millenium?

Travel to other planets - I don't think so. That would mean traveling to other stars at least and since they are so far apart it seems to me you would want to be pretty sure that you were going to a planet that would support life. And just knowing it could support life would not be enough. What if there were dinosaurs on the planet and or it was in it's early stages of creation? What if those dinosaurs were not compatible with mankind, as they have been imagined to be when they were on this planet? Wo9uld not our arriving thee without God's permission be interfering with the creative process or possibly his purpose for that planet? IF God created life on other planets, [which I believe he likely did] and he wanted man to live there he would either create man there or he would transport those of us he wanted to there. If you had the ability to travel at the speed of energy or light it seems to me that you would have to have the ability to make yourself at least like the angels in some way. Funny angels forsook their proper dwelling place because they wanted to enjoy what man has [sex with women] but man wants to enjoy what the angels have [the ability to travel through the heavens]. Would it be fair to give us what they have and not give them what we have had? The Bible says, "As regards the heavens, to Jehovah the heavens belong, but the earth he has given to the sons of men." Psalm 115:16

Does that lead to question #5

    Will we have sex?

I'm not worried about bugs. I think when man stops fooling with the environment, polluting the air and using pesticides and herbicides and chemical fertilizers, everything will adjust to the way it's suppose to be and will be in balance and bugs will not be a problem. Sort of like viruses. [Where do they come from?] Did you know that if you eat very little animal food that the bugs don't seem to bother you as bad?

And speaking of food- will he let us tinker around with plant genes, to possibly breed- for example- Vitamin A-rich carrots that taste like roast beef? xD

My answer is NO NO NO! God made everything perfect and man can not improve on it. Of course it would be OK to use other seasonings that God has provided to add flavor but to make a carrot that taste like roast beef sounds like the spirit that ancient Israel had when they complained about the manna or someone who complains about the food that someone else cooked for them. Just not very polite. Learn to like carrots and read the book, The Food Revolution, and what it has to say about GM foods. http://www.amazon.com/Food-Revolution-Your-Diet-Wo... Vot ! Man couldn't even stay away from the forbidden fruit and now you want carrots that taste like roast beef! Sounds like a food addiction to me.

PLEASE let there be clothing in the new system. hahaha...I know we will be growing toward perfection, but until that time, I don't think my eyes could stand it..as I am not perfect myself! lol lol

I've often too wondered about travel and transportation, maybe we will have cars and planes with clean fuel of course.

I hope we will still have phone service, maybe even internet service, we will still need to chat and contact our brothers and families worldwide.

And I'm sure food will be awesome! You know it's good now, just think how much better it will be without additives and poisons from insecticides. A "roast beef " flavored carrot???? Lol lol...Vot, what are we to do with you sister???/ You might like that carrot so much until you start craving real beef, and go out and kill a cow and have a big cook-out..which we know will be a big NO-NO.

    Love your question!

p.s. I've often thought about how the scriptures tell us that the resurrected will neither marry or be given in marriage...I hope the new scrolls change that...I'm waiting for my daughter [my first one] to come back, and I'm hoping that Jehovah will permit her and others to marry and have families. We will have to be patient though and see what happens.

    p.p.s. thanks for making "our hope" more solid...giving us these things to ponder over. {{{{{{ }}}}}}}

Vot you are hilarious! I love the fine print!! It looks like you called it!

Anyway, life in the New World is beyond our comprehension although the Bible gives us glimpse as to what it will be like. I also wondered the things that you mentioned especially about technology. I assume that using our brains 100% of it's capability we will be able to do amazing things. I mean look at the things that have been invented so far and we don't use a percent of our brains!

It just amazes me that we have all eternity to think about all these things and I'm sure that Jehovah will reveal things to us in his due time. I love music and enjoy playing the piano. I am self taught so I'm no Mozart, but I always wondered if I'll be able to learn it more quickly and be able to sight read music instead studying a piece first and then try to learn it.

I'll just have to do all I can to get there first and then see for myself!! =)

There are so many things on the 'wait and see' list aren't there.

I do wonder a little about them but when I picture the new system I just see us having such peace and contentment under Jehovah's and Jesus' rule that everything will be beautiful. The earth and us. Just so happy to be well and able to do anything good that we want to do. I imagine we will all still look something like our old selves only young and vibrant, free of any deformities or skin diseases and things like that. We'll look and be the best we possibly can be because all Jehovah's work is perfect.

If a Jehovah witness comes to my door I would ask them in.

  • I think our attitude toward how we look will be different.

Everyone is beautiful in their own way (I know it sounds like a cliche)

I sure hope we'll wear clothes, but maybe we'll design our own (which will be amusing, I'm sure)

At the moment, I don't like heights, so I can't even imagine travelling to planets, but it's an option.

I can't wait to see how we interract with women of the past. I'm sure they'll look at how we interract with the opposite sex & think 'how do they dare say that!' as women viewed things differently back in time. ... How many women of today call their husband 'My lord' like Sarah did for example :/

    It'll be fun, I'm sure

When you think about the opportunity to explore the planet, I can't help but wonder about the kinds of transportation we'll be using. Although man obviously wasn't designed for self-flight (ala Superman), the Bible DOES say that God will satisfy all of our desires. I would love to be able to fly, and it would be extremely beneficial when trying to explore certain areas of the earth.

Much more fun that studying ... I actually have an exam to write for my english students but, first thing's first:

Will we get to hear Jehovah's voice like Moses?

Will the angels give us a concert (like when Jesus was born)

Will I be able to build my house anywhere I like?

Will I have to build it alone or will there be a kind of quick build arrangement.

Will famous (infamous) people like Alexandre the Great, or Genghis Khan change their names?

    Will we have belly buttons?

Will we get to know more about the spirit realm, specifically regarding the angels and what they were doing the whole time. Was there a constant battle between the angels and demons? -Daniel 10

I would have to say the first one - Will we wear clothes once we reach perfection.

It's a compelling question when you consider the fact that the Bible states that Adam and Eve were naked and yet they were not ashamed. (Genesis 2:25) Embarassment over their nakedness only came about after they sinned. (Genesis 3:7,10,11) Did Jehovah ever intend for us to wear clothes when he created us, or is it just one of the negative side effects of inherited sin that we only currently have to contend with?

MY VIEW REGARDING THE OTHER QUESTIONS:

"Will people get to look like they'd prefer (e.g "It's not in my family's genes right now, but I hope I'll have a smaller nose!!!!), or will our attitude towards our physical "imperfections" change?"

    - On the one hand our current negative perceptions of ourselves are imperfect, shaped by the world in which we live with it's propaganda that promotes certain human appearances as more desirable than others. On the other hand, any deformations in physical appearances we currently have would be the result of inherited imperfections. Such imperfections would no doubt be undone. With perfect minds we would have the correct view of our appearances - appearances that would be free of imperfections - and yet we would each look unique and recognizable to our loved ones.

"What kind of technology will there be, and how will they be pollution-free? Solar energy? Cellphones and computers? Cars and planes?"

    - I think our view of technology will change to the extent that having everlasting life before us - having all the time in the world and not having the concern of doing as much as we can in a short life-time/before we're forced into retirement; having a different view toward work - enjoying work; living in a world free of greed - which plays a part in the use of technologies meant to mass-produce to maximize profits and cut costs but which don't give as good a quality as manually made products; might all make many technologies currently in use obsolete.

Beyond that, I think we haven't even begun to scratch the surface, in terms of using fully the technology Jehovah created in the natural world.

"Will Jehovah allow us to travel to other planets?"

    - Sometimes I wonder: 'What will the 144,000 do after the thousand year rule has ended? Might Jehovah THROUGH them terraform other planets and create life on them and have each king rule as Jehovah's representative over each of 144,000 planets each with inteligent life on it? In other words might Jehovah in time extend to the anointed the privelege of becoming Master-Workers in creating life on other planets following - to a lesser extent - the pattern of the priveleges extended to his first-born Son, Jesus?'

I can't think of any reasons why Jehovah would want us to travel to other planets. We were created from the dust of planet Earth to live on planet Earth. We are 'one flesh', so to speak, with planet Earth. Jehovah evidently does not take kindly to his creatures doing contrary to his stated purpose for them. Thus homosexuality is stated as a violation of what is natural; angels who came down to live on Earth as humans are spoken of as 'abondoning their natural dwelling place'. Might he view similarly humans made for Earth travelling to live on other planets?

"Vot wonders about pests and food supplies (I know, no surprise there lol)- will these bugs change their "destructive" diets like the lions and wolves will, or will there be more than enough vegetation for man and beast (and bug) for there not to be a problem, or will Jehovah let us invent "clean" pesticides that bring no harm to man or beast (or good bug)?"

    - "Man and Beast living in peace cause no harm to each other" = no animals - not even bugs - being a pest to man.

"And speaking of food- will he let us tinker around with plant genes, to possibly breed- for example- Vitamin A-rich carrots that taste like roast beef? xD"

    - Does anything created by Jehovah need improving/refining/tinkering with, by Man?
