trouble breathing... suggestions?
I have had trouble breathing for about a week now. I feel like I need to take deeper breaths than normal. I have run with this trouble and it seems almost like I can breathe better shortly after running which I think is weird. Some times I take many deep breaths and I feel light headed when I do. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be or any resources that I could go to to find out what it could be? thanks

HI and I believe that you should get to a doctor as soon as you can. What you have described sounds a lot like you have a breathing problem that you need to get a fix on early. Your doctor will give you breathing tests and probably an MRI or x-ray. Please get this looked at soon. I know a bit about it as I have COPD with emphysema. Not saying that I am an expert but it is always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Have you just started running? if so, it's going to take a while to build up the breath and endurance. I started running last summer and could't go 100 yards without being out of breath. Now i can go at least a mile and a half outdoors. ON the treadmill, I couldn't go five minutes without having to slow down. Now i run for 40 minutes straight. I have to add that I stopped smoking before I took up running too... If you smoke, stop, or at least try to cut down dramatically.

There is such a broad spectrum of what could be wrong. you could be developing asthma or you could just have a sickness that swells the throat ( or something along the air passage) that will pass in a short time. There is also the chance that there is fluid build up in the lung. In any case, I would have your doctor look into it to make sure its nothing serious
