what kind of weather is typical of DC?

I'll be living there from January to April to intern. I am from the Midwest and have been told the weather is milder there, but I don't know what to expect. Does it snow much? What's the temperature like in an average day for each season?

I know around here we get a few snow storms per winter that are 1-2 feet of snow, with steady snow falling all winter, temps typically less than 20 and often a bit below zero. In the spring it's in the 60's and 70's, Fall is similar to Spring, and summer is something like 70-80+ with occasional droughts. How will DC be different?

We get the worst of winter from middle January to end of February meaning typically we get some snow,,, NOT 1-2 feet but just a couple of inches which stops the city! lol. A couple of inches of snow causes delays and even closings. We are not use to seeing a lot of snow. The temp is around upper 30s (highs) and the worst it could be is the teens (lows) but usually 20s. This winter was very bad. We had about 30+ inches of snow, we were hit with snow storm after snow storm. Know that this RARELY happens. It broke a record. The last time it snowed this much in one storm was like in 1922. The last blizzard we had was in 96 with 17 inches of snow. Average temp in the Spring is low 50s to 70's. Right now its kind of chilly and around 54 degrees. I say it rains the most in the Spring. Its been raining a lot here. Summers are pretty hot, upper 90's but usually stays at mid 80's for highs and low 60's for lows. Falls are like Spring just a bit cooler and less rain. Hope this helps!

Also wanted to add that our winters are unpredictable at times. You can have an average temp of like 36 one day and the next day its in the upper 50's! It happens all the time.
