Well na or no used in a sentence are usually connecting words but she could be saying 'Nya'. Which is the sound a cat makes in Japanese. People do it when they're being cute.

ok, this is only me, and that i've got not any evidence, yet I consistently assumed the 'na' on the top of 'taberu na' replaced into short for 'nai'. that is short and sharp. i don't comprehend if that's the main suitable option grammer or not, yet this is only what i think of is at the back of it. The 'na' on the top of 'ikitai na' is an prolonged sound. incredibly, i might write it 'naa'. Softer and greater drawn out, exceedingly much an illustration of longing.

My Japanese friend uses it as a form of very mild emphasis.

Rather like saying, "Let's go to the movies, na?" for "Let's go to the movie, okay?"
