Nonsense. If you think that life was introduced to Earth from some other location, or seeded by "aliens," then all you have accomplished is to move the point of origin of life to some other location. You still need to explain the <<beginning>> of a viable life form. If we say "It must have happened elsewhere", then we remove incentive to investigate, explore and experiment to find a mechanism for origin here, on our own planet. That is useless. Science seeks information, answers, knowledge based on facts and evidence supported theories. To say that aliens did it, or that a "god" did it, is an answer the promotes and prolongs ignorance.

Well, I think that you should do some research in astronomy and biology if you want to actually understand the truth by the means of an objective universe. Space is far too vast for any civilization to reach us especially with relativity to take into account. Life very well could be abundant, but not intelligent life. Look at earth, out of billions of species only one becomes intelligent by our definition.

Almost certainly they do not exist.

Let's be optimistic and say the chance of a star having a life-bearing planet that gives rise to a civilisation is one in a trillion. That places the nearest such star somewhere in the next cluster of galaxies. Not the next galaxy, the next cluster of galaxies!

Lets be optimistic again and suppose that against all likelihood there is some new law of nature that allows travel between the stars to be practical. The hypothetical "other civilisation" would have to search a trillion stars in order to find us. Even at the phenomenal rate of exploration of one thousand stars a year, it would take them a billion years to find us!

Truly then, for all intents and purposes, aliens do not exist. The beauty of Fermi's arguments stand to this day, as an effective prophylactic against gullibility.

They do exist and are likely based on some sort of DNA like us

They likely parallel us closely in intelligence and their technology could be above or below ours.

Since we have never contacted them they are all likely very short lived some where on the order of about less than 500 years.
