Earth Hour 2010!!!!!!!?

How many people are taking part!

It'd be great if as many possible took part, so wherever you are switch of your lights at 8:30 PM (in your timezone for 1 hour. Australia are starting it off. UK is in about 4 hours and 45 mins.

It's not to save energy, it's too raise awareness, a sort of a world wide protest against global warming and climate change.

last year hundreds of millions of people took part in 4000 cities in 88 countries.

Take part and show your support!

Update:

lol yeh global warming is climate change, just thout i'd put both incase

Update 2:

well we can tell from this hat certain ignorant idiots chat a load of uninformed pessimistic rubbish(plenty of other words i could use there!)

sooo thank you to those who took part and to those who think it doesn't do anything can just stay in there sad old house where they live there sad old life and stop making positive things so flipping negative!!!!!!

Just to let you know, all you ignorant and bloggers out there, Earth Day is a scam created by the electric companies. Turning lights off for one hour will do one thing and one thing only: cost you more money. Most of our electricity comes from coal and to make electricity, the coal must be burned at a very high temperature. The plants cannot be turned off for one hour because the pressure in the pipes must be kept up. The heat cannot even be reduced, because if it is, it will take even more coal to heat it back up again. Once the hour is up anyway, everyone will turn back on everything and it will cost them even more money than if they had just left everything on.

This truly shows the ignorance and stupidity of the oh so intelligent human race. There are millions of scams just like this that seem like you are being an angel to help save the Earth, but you are really contributing to its destruction. I implore you to think before you act. This is not meant to save the Earth, it is just a means for you to give more money.

So, I will proudly not participate because I think before I fall into the traps of commercialism and 'global warming awareness,' and I hope you will too. I will leave my lights on, maybe I will just shine a great big spotlight in the sky, just to prove that you are all being taken for fools.

    I don't get 'raising awareness'.

Look if you think the Earth is going to like die or some thing soon, then fine. Why not do your part?

How about, you personally, use little or no power. Never turn on a single light at night, for example. Don't use any electrical appliances. Then you can 'save the world' all by yourself.

And the rest of us will just use energy normally.
