Someone asked to buy my Yahoo! account; how do I protect it from theft?

I know I can choose not to respond, which I am, but I fear a hostile or surreptitious takeover. There are professional implications for me.

Update:

I believe s/he was referring to my Yahoo! Answers identity. The person wanted an old account, which I can only think means my points and status. I am more concerned with my "identity".

Firstly, you should never sell your Y! account because it's against the Terms of Service. Don't respond to their offer at all costs.

Secondly, you can change your password by going here: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/change_pw? This should be done ASAP.

I would rather hope it was not deliberate. If people are going to put sites on here, it should be that they have visited the site themselves to ensure it answers the question correctly. It rather bothers me that people give the incorrect answer at times and I hope their answer is not picked as best because it is unfair to the asker.

You are very right!I think it is best for you not to answer.Your account might be used for malicious business and it will destroy your reputation. You are identified with your account.I really admire your answers and philosophy.
