how do I make my S video cable go through my DVD player?

I want to hook my s video cable up to my DVD player so the sounds will go to the DVD player, from my computer, is this possible? Also how do I get the video to play through the DVD player?

Update:

I'm not looking to burn DVDs I understand all of that I want to hook up my laptop to my computer.

Update 2:

I am trying to hook it up through the DVD player because the DVD has the sound connected to the computer so I don't have to listen to it on the laptop.

Update 3:

**the DVD player has the sound connected to the television, I apologize

Update: Yes, but even if the DVD player has sound connected to the TV, an S-Video connection from your computer cannot carry sound. So even if you could connect the PC to the DVD player with S-Video (which is not possible with most players), you still would not get sound.

If you want to connect the PC to the TV using S-Video and also have sound through the TV, this is what you need to do:

    - Connect the S-Video from the computer to one of the S-Video inputs on the TV

    - Purchase a 3.5mm mini-plug to RCA adapter at your local electronics store (about $2)

    - Connect one end of the adapter to the headphone jack on the PC and the other end to the RCA audio input on the TV.

Now you should get video and sound from your PC on the TV.

Most DVD players do not have a video input, they only have outputs.

Could you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish? It sounds like you just want to connect the PC to the TV, so I'm not sure why you're trying to connect it through the DVD player when you can connect it directly to the TV itself (I'm assuming your PC has an S-Video output). The audio must be carried through a separate connection though (e.g. using an analog 3.5mm mini-plug to RCA adapter).

Not possible. DVD players have NO inputs.
