    The slope is 2.5, or m=2.5

    The y intercept is -3, or b= -3

    This is because this formula is in slope-intercept form which is y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept.

    y=2.5x-3 Is in slop intercept form

    slope intercept form is y=mx+b

    M = slope and B = y-int.

    slope= 2.5 y intercept=-3

  • 1 decade ago

    y=mx+b

    M=SLOPE, B=Y-INTERCEPT

    2.5 is the slope, -3 is the y-intercept.

    When you go to graph this equation, -3 should be the starting point, then from -3 you would go up 2.5, over 1 (since the slope is the rise over run, there is an understood 1 as the denominator).

    Hope this helps.

    Slope = 2.5 (always infront of x)

    y Intercept = -3 (always the constant)

    the y intercept is where x=0. so if you put in zero for x, u get y=-3. if the equation they give u is in y=mx+b form, like this one is the "+b" is always your y-intercept, and the "m" is always your slope. so in this case your slope is 2.5.

    slope form equation: y=mx+b

    where m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept.

    so in y=2.5x-3, the slope (m) = 2.5 and the y-int.= -3

    SLOPE (M) = 2.5

    Y-INTERCEPT = -3

    Slope is 2.5

    Y intercept is -3.

    The general equation of a line is y=mx+b

    m is the slope, b is the y-intercept.

  • In this case, follow the formula y=mx+b

    m= the slope, which is 2.5

    b= the y-intercept, which is -3, not positive 3.

    If you're going to graph it, you're going to graph your first point at -3.

    the y intercept is the number that isnt being multiplied to anything, which in this case is 3.

    the slope is the number multiplied to x, which is 2.5
