Airline Flying Regulations ?

1). Yes, you should be allowed to have a carry-on bag along with your purse. There is a limit to size..but usually a small suitcase or a backpack would count as another carry-on bag.

2) If you have any big bottles, you will want to stick those in your checked luggage is possible. If not, you can only carry on bottles that have 3 ounces or less.

3) Nowadays, you can only have carry-on baggage w/o being charged. You will have to check with your individual airline. Some will charge for the first bag (unless you're flying Southwest) and they will charge for your bag each way. See if you can prepay online because this may save you some money, instead of paying at the counter in the airport for your checked bag(s).

4) You should not receive your luggage at your layover unless you are changing airlines. When you check in and are not changing airlines, your luggage should follow you to your destination. Just check with the agent at the counter. If you do change airlines, you will most likely need to pick up your bag....unless it's a partner airline. Just check! :)

5) Make sure you are to the airport early enough to get through check-in and security. Depending on the size of the airport, you may need to be there anywhere from 1.5-2 hours early...just check online at your airline's page for details.

You're allowed one carry on luggage like a stroller that fits into the overhead bin aside from your purse. There is size limitation, go to your airline's website to check the dimensions.

Go to the following TSA website to see the rule for liquid/gel/lotion/toothpaste for details. Basically all of these must be in containers no bigger than 3.4 oz/100ml all of which must fit into one single quart size plastic bag. Bigger and extra liquid/gel can be put into your checked bags.

The no. of free checked luggage allowed depends on many situation. If you have full fare or first/business class ticket or are an elite member of the airline's frequent flyer program, you're usually allowed 2 free bags. If not it depends on the individual airlines, domestic or international destinations. Again go to the airline's website and check on baggage allowance.

If you're flying domestic only, you don't need to do anything with your luggage until you reach your final destination. But if you're transferring from a domestic to an international flight, you have to check with your airline, it also depends. If you have a connecting flight after arriving at a foreign country, you will need to claim your luggage at the first landing port of that country to go through customs and recheck again for the connecting domestic flight.

-no you claim your luggage at your final destination unless your layover is over 8 hours

Most of the answers above are right; however, if you're flying from Canada or Europe to the US (not the other way 'round) you are only allowed ONE carry-on. So if you have a purse, that is your one carry-on and your other bag has to be checked.
