I don't have any advice on any to avoid, however remember that free is free and you get what you pay for in many cases.
Solid PDF Creator V6 has a free trial that is unlimited and will allow you to create as many PDF files as you need with just a nag screen. No watermarks are placed on your document. The PDF creation engine is the same one that is in the higher priced Solid PDF tools and Solid Converter PDF, but is just scaled down for a single purpose of creating PDF files. You can add security and optimization to the files as well.
