I have been doing inexpensive, printable social stories for children at www.EasySocialStories.com and I am wondering what are common topics that people would like to see for social stories for special needs kids - particularly Autism, Asperger's, ADHD and Downs syndrome.

I have an emergency need and little time to make a decision. Can you help?

My boyfriend was arrested this week for a misdemeanor DUI and it is his 2nd count in 5 years, though I think his first count probation was only for 3 yrs. Someone told us it will cost him $20,000 and a lawyer told us it would cost that much if he was convicted, but with a lawyer it would be $5-7,000. The penalties I found on line seemed to say the maximum penalty was closer to $3000 with mandatory jail or community service time of 96 hrs. What am I missing? Anyone have experience with this or advice to offer?

I have long felt that "Spirit in the Sky" is the most rocking theist song out there - it is also the most accessible, being played on mainstream radio. Duncan Sheik does a song called "Reasons for Living" that has a real divine power feel to it. Do you know any other rocking Thiest songs? I am not looking for Jesus songs in particular - just songs about spirit and a higher power, as it were - but they must be rocking songs.

I think that many people have felt that XTC's "Dear God" was the athiest's anthem - others seem to go with Emerson Lake and Palmer's "Father Christmas". Recently I have been reaquainted with Blind Melon's "Holy Man" and I think it blows the socks off the other, rocking wise - and it is a more positive message. What do you think?

Statements like "love me and I'll leave you" or "don't fall in love with me - you will scare me off" imply that merely the expression of love implies a level of committment that is binding. Why should it be that we can not express love easily in a romantic relationship without giving the idea that we want our beloved to do more or be more in the relationship?

...can you think of a good reason for mating for life? The more I think about it, the more it seems unlikely that humans are meant to have only 1 spouse in their life. It seems unreasonable to expect people to grow and stay together for such a long time - and unlikely that it can be done. We go through so many changes as parents and people - why should we constrain ourselves to 1 mate for life? What do you think?
