Are you talking about a cortisone injection?

If you are talking about a cortisone injection - I had one in my shoulder due to arthritis and rotator cuff problems.

They numb the area before they give the shot and it did not hurt.

Sometimes, after a cortisone shot, you can get what they call a 'cortisone flare' which the pain seems to increase a little for a day or so BUT then the pain gradually goes away over a week and as the weeks go on the pain gradually goes away.

However, each person is different - with their reaction and results of the injection.
