Are these subs a good pair with the amp? Please answer all questions!?

I've had this amp hooked up to two 15s but they were really old, so I just got these new 12" subs. Will these subs bang with this amp?

The guy I bought the subs from said it's 500rms for the pair, not per sub. Does that make a difference?

ALSO: if I were to get subs that were 250 rms each, total of 500 watt output would that work better with the amp?

    Well the subwoofers are 500rms together with a 4ohms final load and your amp is rated at 500x1@4ohms. So the guy did his job.
