Asking on R&S: What song(s) or artist do you love that you know is pure rubbage? And do you fess up to it?

Bonus Question: Any songs that a rhythm you like enough you start partial dancing without realizing it?

I'll answer if I get enough answers.

Update:

You guys are doing it wrong... Brianiac, who doesn't appreciate that cover?! It concerns me that if you're worried about admitting you appreciate that song, that maybe... maybe you are a "hipster." We don' need any "hipsters" in here, thanks...

Update 2:

.

My turn. I like Reel Big Fish... yeah that's right, I like Ska... It seems half of their work is covers, and they don't add anything good to them...

Then there's interest in music I grew up with. I was born in '89 so you know most of it is crap.... Hoobastank, Backstreet Boys (hated and still hate N'Sync), Linkin Park (jam when it's on the radio, but I'll never go out of my way to hear it), Crossfade, early Nickelback, Creed, Staind, etc...

And if I hear "An Honest Mistake" by the Bravery my body makes tempo unintentionally... it's bad...

    For you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoGtP7BOexM

    xx

Source(s): I don't give a f@#k what people think of him, the song or me... It aint rubbage!! It's f@#king epic! But if you tell anyone this I will DESTROY YOU!
  • I really, really like that new One Republic song. I know it's crap, a deaf four year old could have wrote it... but I still like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrOeGCJdZe4

Bonus: I end up in a full dance before I notice all the time. I play Hello Goodbye on Beatles Rockband all the time, and since most of it is just base peddle I sit there and do odd things with the drum sticks most the time. My best move is called The Windshield Wiper.

I dance like Michael Stipe to REM songs all the time.

I have a good amount of total garbage on a playlist that I listen to only when I'm running or in the gym. For some reason there are songs that I just love to death when I'm in that zone.

    Some highlights -

    Lady GaGa - Just Dance

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Abk1jAONjw

    Christina Aguilera - Fighter

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PstrAfoMKlc

    Candlebox - You

    Dramarama - Anything, Anything

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9V2OpsTbAw

    Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prrwSME_QEc

And yes, I realized I was dancing to one of the Lady GaGa songs the other day in between sets of squats. Yes, it was embarrassing.

Reminds me of a cheesy Beatles/Beach Boys song

Astrud Gilberto's take on her (then) husband's classic "The Girl From Impanema". Not that the song is trash, but that poor Astrud has to rank with Yoko Ono and Linda MacCartney as one of the most tone deaf wives of a great musician (The rest of her work is painful to listen to) but she nailed this one, without any rehearsal (her husband wanted her to speak, not sing the words in tempo), on the first take.

There's also a Sergio Mendez song, "Pretty World", I am rather taken with.

Joe Cocker. He is basically a cover artist but I love me some Cock..er-With a Little Help from My Friends.

EDIT: You asked what song do you like that you know is pure rubbage. Correct? Well I think covering a song that isn't yours and it being your best song ever is rubbage. So my answer stands. It reminds me of Taco covering Irving Berlin's song getting famous off it. (Yet not that famous since you probably don't know who Taco is)
