Is my battery dead for my laptop?

So awhile ago, the charger for my laptop started going bad. I think the cord started to crack, and I would have to hold it in a certain position to make it charge my laptop. Eventually, it completely broke. I bought a new adapter online, but it won't charge my battery. I bought another adapter online just in case the first one was bad, but this one doesn't charge it either. My computer is completely dead. Now I'm not sure if I need a new battery altogether or what. The battery was fine before, and I know that it was the adapter that broke. Any thoughts or advice?

Your computer should work work with the charger plugged in regardless if the battery is shot or not. Are you sure you've purchased the correct charger? Your battery probably needs replacing, but be sure to have the correct charger.

exact same thing happened to me, the port you plug the power into is more than likely messed up. i had an acer i had to send in twice to have the motherboard replaced because the charger thing kept snapping off. i can almost guarentee this is what happened to you

its not the battery,,, its the little plug in that you plug the adapter into that is bad,, sounds like it had a cold solder joint from the factory,, you would have to resolder this joint,, or its a dead computer...

That's a tricky situation there my dear, because even if your battery's dead. you should still be able to boot in your laptop.

    A dead battery+plugged in charger=bootable laptop.

There maybe something wrong with your laptop IC powerboard. better have it checked sweety.
