How can I get car oil off of my driveway?

I recently had a car problem in which all of the oil poured out of my car onto my driveway. I got the problem fixed but now there is a huge oil stain on my driveway. Are there any good methods to wash/get it out?

I have this problem all the time at the shop.Take oil dry/cat litter and brush it vigorously with a stiff bristled push broom.then sweep it up and throw it in the trash. Then take dawn dishsoap that seems to work the best and scrub it again with a small amount of water.then hose it down.If you are not happy with the results do the dish soapthing again.Thats what I do.MYSTIC you look you could be my bst friends twin brother also you know what you are talkin about

well if you buy some muriatic acid and pour it on the stain it let it sit for a little bit and hose it away. BE CAREFUL with that stuff though because its some nasty stuff.

Another way would be to soak up as much as you can and then power wash the stain with a high pressure power washer.

get a pack of kitty litter, the more powdery the litter the better (versus the gravel kind).

Put it on the driveway, and if your driveway is unfinished, you can can grind it in with your shoes.

Let it sit for awhile. and sweep up later.

Repeat to see if it gets better.

There are also commerical products to both absorb oil spills (which looks pretty much like fine grained kitty litter),

as well as products to remove stains that are liquid based.

You can use cat litter to soak up the oil, but you pretty much stuck with the stain.

make a mudlike paste of powder or use liquid laundry soap straight. brush it in good with a stiff brush. hose it away.
